HMV Group made a formal 96.4m pounds takeover bid for Ottakar's in September. Eversheds has hired Serious Fraud Office deputy director Peter Kieman as a partner. Kieman will work alongside fraud and financial crime head Gerallt Owen. Kieman has already worked on cases such as Barings PLC and advised the Butterfield Inquiry into HM Customs and Excise investigations and prosecutions.
