ABSTRACT
The article reports on the presentation of the Wallin Award to William M. Cruickshank by the Council for Exceptional Children at the president's dinner during the 43rd annual convention in Portland, Maine. The award was created by an educator J. E. W. Walllin to honor outstanding educators of handicapped children. Cruickshank was awarded due to his several and varied contributions to the field of special education such as the Division of Special Education and Rehabilitation of the Syracuse University, he developed and organized. During his acceptance of the award, he gave an emphasis on the responsibility of special educators to utilize the methods available to them for the improvement of educational services to exceptional children.
