This article reports that the number of visitors in the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, Illinois, increased by 34% in 2005. However, nine other facilities that make up the Chicago museum community located on Chicago Park District land saw declines ranging from 1% to 53%. Overall, museum attendance rose by 2%. The strong growth of the science museum is attributed to its popular "Body Worlds" show and to the reopening of its U-505 submarine exhibit. It received 1.8 million visitors and the Art Institute of Chicago received 1.5 million visitors.
