ABSTRACT
The article forecasts growth in the markets for small-form factor and mobile personal computer hard disk drives (HDD) in 2006, predicted to counterbalance flat growth in the desktop personal computer and enterprise HDD segments. These predictions were based on the study "WorldWide Hard Disk Drive Semiconductor 2005-2009 Forecast," which examines the worldwide HDD semiconductor type for various HDD segments including enterprise, desktop, mobile, and small form factor. It also highlighted significant technology trends and provided recommendations to HDD component suppliers.
