ABSTRACT
The article reports on the results of the research conducted by Forrester Research Inc. which found out that there is a significant gap between the capabilities of digital devices and the services actually used by the consumers. Examples of the results are detailed as follows: (1) Out of 18 million households, only 80 percent don't buy data services; (2) half of high definition television set owners don't subscribe to HDTV programming; (3) One in four owners of MP3 players purchases music online. The said research body urges consumer technology companies to sell integrated products, services and content, to rectify a situation where consumers don't take advantage of the content that their devices can deliver.
