ABSTRACT
The article focuses on leadership development. Leaders are not born but developed. The first step of any leadership development requires a leader to intensely and critically examine himself. He must explore his strengths and weaknesses. In other words, self-awareness must be achieved. Second, to improve on leadership, he must blend his soft management skills, values and attitudes such as trust, empathy and genuine communication with tough ones such as stern attitude in implementing organization rules. A strong leader is one who can command change in employees.
