ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the requirement to prepare and file audited financial statement for liability protection in a limited-liability partnership (LLP). It reports that few law firms understand the implications of a full audit on their partnership accounts, and many are at risk of being surprised by the level of rigor required. It suggests that while preparing LLP financial statements, the periods need to be covered in the statement should be made clear. The internal financial controls of the firm should also be considered in addition to examining the balances within the financial statements.
