New Republic;2/13/2006, Vol. 234 Issue 5, p12
This article focuses on Massachusetts Senator John Kerry's attempts to organize a filibuster against Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito. The filibuster vote, however, was a flop: only 25 of the 41 Democrats needed to block the confirmation vote sided with Kerry. The author claims that Kerry's filibuster attempt exemplified Democratic division and infighting, and handed the Republicans an easy victory.
