ABSTRACT
The article offers information on Mount Van Hoevenberg Recreation Area, the cross-country ski area in New York created for the 1969 John F. Kennedy Games. Two commemorative plaques on site honor a pair of the most dedicated volunteers and avid recreational skiers of the area. It has operated as a day-use facility as well as training and competition venue for athletes in cross-country skiing and biathlon. Other skiing events that the recreational area has hosted are listed. The sports programs offered by Mount Van Hoevenberg are discussed.
