ABSTRACT
This article focuses on a clinical study according to which Helicobacter pylori remains an important cause of ulcer disease, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, and gastric adenocarcinoma. In the study, an impressive eradication rate of 94% was seen with the 10-day sequential therapy regimen compared with 80% with the gold-standard triple therapy regimen. Excellent compliance and minimal side effects were also observed. The study appropriately documented Helicobacter pylori status both before and after eradication treatment. The study included older patients in 3 Italian centers.
