ABSTRACT
This article presents a situation for students to use as basis for writing a paragraph. Ever since Cara got the lead part in the fourth-grade play, a lot of her classmates have been calling her teacher's pet. Cara knows that most of the other girls wanted the part. She hears some of them whispering that she got the part because the teacher likes her best. Cara is happy about starring in the play, but the whispering and teasing make her sad.
