ABSTRACT
The article reports on the landmark achievements of the journalist Roger Brown related to technological improvement in cable television industry. Roger covered all the major events related to technological innovation in cable network industry including introduction of optical fibre in 1980. In 2001, Roger profiled Susan Marshall of AT&T Broadband Co. on the cover of the CED journal as Woman of the Year. Due to efforts of Roger, the Polaris Award was founded in 1993 to recognize and honor the landmark achievements in the field of emerging technologies. The organizers of the Polaris award paid tribute to Roger by conferring him the Polaris Award on January, 2006.
