The article looks at the political activities of New York Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton in upstate New York. Some have pointed to Clinton's relations in upstate New York when trying to prove her potential as a presidential candidate. However, upstate New York is not that conservative and Clinton has not raised a lot of public support there. Rather than values issues, the economy is very important in upstate New York. Clinton actually lost upstate by three points to her 2000 opponent, Rick Lazio.
