The article focuses on services provided by digital intermediate (DI) providers. Efilm President Joe Matza estimates that less than 50 percent of major studio feature films are finished with a DI. Efilm has been increasing its storage capacities and adding 4K scanners in pursuit of 4K DI pipelines. Ancillary services provided by DI providers are several digital dailies options that create a data-centric workflow that starts during production.
