ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs related to disabled veterans in the U.S. On November 22, the U.S. President signed the Veterans Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2005 that will increase the amount of disability compensation for veterans with service-connected disabilities. From December 1, The Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense have started accepting applications for insurance payments under the traumatic injury protection program. In order for a servicemember to avail of this benefit, he or she must pay a premium for a rider on Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance.
