ABSTRACT
The article analyzes the performance of several baseball teams. RHP Roy Oswalt and LHP Andy Pettitte of the Houston Astros can be dominating, and RHP Brandon Backe has his moments. RHPs John Smoltz and Tim Hudson of the Atlanta Braves are co-aces, and there could be enviable depth with LHP Horaclo Ramirez and RHPs John Thomson, Jorge Sosa and Kyle Davies. Brandon Webb of Arizona Diamondbacks needs to step into the No. 1 role. He had a breakout year in 2005; his control, defense, bunting and ability to hold runners all improved.
