Value Investing and the Business Cycle

This article presents research which compared a value-oriented portfolio with a growth-oriented portfolio in an expansion and a contraction period of the business cycle. The financial performance of U.S. enterprises were assessed in this study. Using the variables value investments adjusted for total risk, market risk and portfolio-specific risk, the financial status of the firms. The research also evaluates previous studies regarding value investing in the corporate setting.
