ABSTRACT
The article offers news briefs on the telecommunications industry in the U.S. as of January 2005. A study conducted by the Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana shows that college students are responsive to advertisements over cellular telephones. Research firm In-Stat predicts that the WiMAX chipset market will reach $950 million in 2009. There are more than 74% of MVNO summit attendees who believe that the MVNO Market will experience significant consolidation in the next couple of years. The average spending of third generation users in the U.S. on voice and data services is $76 per month.
