ABSTRACT
The article discusses a method to evaluate the Web Services security performance. A Compaq Proliant ML570 server and 100 concurrently active clients makes the test environment for the Web Services security performance evaluation. Apache Version 2 served up static XML content and ran on the Proliant. A multithreaded cURL-based application sent requests to the Proliant server on each client. A Gigabit Ethernet network carried the clients' requests and the server's responses. In the performance testing, each product's processing speed is measured in transactions per second. The security configuration settings were: Check for denial of service only; Validate the XML schema; Add an XML signature to the response payload.
