The article provides information on the sound equipment used in fourth annual Opera in the Park held in Madison, Wisconsin on July 16, 2005. The Opera was tapped the volunteer resources of Bag End Loudspeakers and Full Compass System Ltd. in Middleton. Full Compass founder and front-of-house engineer Jonathan Lipp came to the Opera with only 10 microphones to cover 55-piece Madison Symphony Orchestra, 63-piece Madison Opera Chorus section and five vocalist out front and five vocalist out front. For the Orchestra and Choir he provide a pair of Shure KSM44 were mounted in center positions, over the violins and viola.
