ABSTRACT
This article focuses on a study conducted by GlaxoSmithKline which examined the link between paxil and birth defects. The rate of birth defects among almost 3,600 women who took paroxetine or another antidepressant was analyzed by researchers. They discovered that those who took paroxetine had an increased risk of their infant being born with a major congenital defect. So in a move to call attention to this potential risk, GlaxoSmithKline has revised the labeling of paroxetine.
