ABSTRACT
This article presents contrasting views of two information technology executives on the use of Internet Protocol (IP) telephony in the infrastructure of organizations. Tim Keanini of nCircle comments that IP telephony can be used in the infrastructure. He argues that VoIP might not be considered safe but in order to manage the risk, network intelligence is needed. Meanwhile Ian Shepherd of Telindus states that an IP telephony infrastructure could be attacked. He recommends to consider the requirement of VoIP, which is acquiring the right hardware and software to secure VoIP.
