ABSTRACT
The article analyzes the performance of the players of the football team Detroit Lions. The Lions will look for a veteran to compete with QB Joey Harrington, or they might try to trade for a younger player with experience. LT Jeff Backus and pass-rush specialist Kalimba Edwards are the notable free agents who might leave. Losing Backus would create a big hole in the line. The offensive skill positions are set, but an infusion of young linemen with size and toughness and a blocking tight end are needed. Other than CB Dre' Bly, the defense lacks playmakers.
