This article offers suggestions from Frank Guerin, former manager of Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co., on how to establish a good manufacturer-dealer relationship. He explained how Utility kept their goals aligned and their dealers informed and updated on issues concerning the business. Some items expected by trailer manufacturers from their dealer network include sales, parts and service coverage, local representation and reputation. Dealers on the other hand expect their product to sell, profit opportunities and access to aftermarket parts. Guerin commented on areas of conflict between manufacturers and dealers.
