ABSTRACT
The article examines the negative aspects of conditional fee arrangements (CFAs) in libel cases in Great Britain. Because of a recent House of Lords decision in favor of supermodel Naomi Campbell in the privacy case she filed against Mirror Group Newspapers, the tendency of CFAs to be used by celebrities against freedom of speech has become a popular issue. However, the law has to be amended in order to prevent wealthy people from using CFAs. Until then, this is a moral issue instead of a legal issue.
