ABSTRACT
This article profiles Larry Divney, president and CEO of the television network Comedy Central. Divney is only the second person to rise through the advertising sales ranks to head a major television network. He joined what was then called the Comedy Channel in 1989, rising to executive vice-president advertising sales force before his promotion to president and CEO in 1999. Divney has been in advertising sales from the moment he graduates from Notre Dame in 1965. His focus, his task, is to take Comedy Central to the next level.
