This article presents the statement of Jennefer Nicholson, outgoing executive director of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Brief background information on ALIA is given. The ALIA privacy guidelines and relevant policies are overviewed. Nicholson enumerates the opportunities she gained from being executive director of ALIA.
