The article reports on the ability of top cable networks to increase their primetime ratings or retain their rates in the U.S. as of January 2, 2006. Betsy Frank, executive vice president of research and planning for the cable networks of Viacom Inc., says that she is not seeing any signs of decline in the rating. Frank says that new media do not indicate a defeat of television in terms of entertainment. Turner Network Television leads in the primetime cable rating based on a Nielsen Research data analysis made by Disney ABC Cable Networks.
