Market Research Report
The article reports that Johnson & Johnson's proposed $25.4 billion acquisition of Guidant Corp. is in danger, with Guidant hit by a number of product recalls and even regulatory investigations. While the acquisition could still provide Johnson & Johnson with a stronger position in the lucrative medical device market, it seems the company is not willing to overpay for the asset. Johnson & Johnson's acquisition of Guidant was called into question following a series of problems for Guidant, which included the recall of thousands of medical devices and regulatory investigations.
