This article discusses the role of lasers in the innovative domestic lighting. Domestic lighting, which is now commercially produced in Europe is using plastic laser sintering machines. These machines are introduced from EOS Electro Optical Systems. Laser sintering has matured to a technology for batch-sized, optimized production including end products and spare parts. According to Lionel Theodore Dean, proprietor of Future Factories, based on CAD models, the lights can be customized to suit a customer's individual requirements.
