ABSTRACT
The article explores the idea of using computer programs to calculate all combinations of standard 1% resistors. Forming resistors of unusual values can be achieved by connecting two standard-value resistors of 1% tolerance in parallel. Visual Basic has the ability to check all standard 1%-resistor values in a given range. Like the Visual Basic, RPar2a.exe also checks and displays all standard 1%-resistor values. It calculates parallel combinatin values that fall within 0.1% of the desired value.
