ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the management of RoHS compliance, which is recognised by Anglia Components Ltd. as an area of vital importance to customers. Already 70 per cent of goods dispatched to customers are RoHS compliant, as are 95 per cent of goods coming into the warehouse. The electronic components firm has developed a free Internet-based information service called Part Tracker to help customers through this important transition period and beyond. This service allows the user to search for components by part number, view the current RoHS status, and load and build a bill of materials. The label on each package shows full data against each of the three parameters categorised by JEDEC standards. A unique barcode identifies the status of an individual package, and a large clear symbol indicates whether or not the product is RoHS compliant.
