The article reports on the decision of the Canadian government to provide compensation to those who contracted Hepatitis C from contaminated blood before 1986 and after 1990. The number of beneficiaries is estimated to be between 6,000 to 10,000 people. Canadian Hemophilia Society spokesperson John Platter criticized the government on its failure to gather information about the victims. According to Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh, it will take several more months before people can get their compensation.
