ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the 21st Israel Film Festival which started on November 30, 2005 in Los Angeles, California. Meir Fenigstein has founded the first Israel Film Festival in Boston, Massachusetts. In the 2005 festival, Israeli films are experiencing the rewards of respect. "Walk on Water" has grossed 3 million dollars in the U.S. Natalie Portman starred in the Israeli indie "Free Zone," for which Israeli actor Hannah Lazlo won best actress at the Cannes Film Festival. The Israeli film "The Syrian Bride" has won the best film award at the Montreal Film Festival, while "Turn Left at the End of the World" was the largest-grossing film in Israel. According to Fenigstein, the Israeli film market has offered limited opportunities for Israeli actors.
