ABSTRACT
The article comments that examinations, grades and overlong assignments produce mental disturbances and psychic illness in students. The procedures connected with school and college education inflict unintentional damage on the personality development of youths. Despite evidence of the inaccuracy of grades in the measurement of scholastic proficiency and mental capacity, many instructors still proceed on the assumption that the marking system is reliable.
