This article provides information on the Great Lakes International Instrumentation Collaboratory, a collaboration of academic laboratories to address the issue of sharing instrumentation remotely. To initiate and strengthen the relationship of U.S. chemists with analytical and environmental scientists in Africa is the purpose of the Great Lakes International Instrumental Collaboratory Cyber Chemistry Collaboration.
