ABSTRACT
This article discusses a reports from ChangeWave Research regarding the sales of personal digital assistants and smartphones as of December 2005. The study found that electronic mail-capable personal digital assistants have declined in proportion to the growth of smartphone sales. Since June, ownership of smartphones has increased by a third to 12%. Palm had a 28% share of smatphones owned by IT professionals. More respondents owned a Hewlett-Packard hybrid PDA than Palm personal digital assistants.
