ABSTRACT
The article reports that Michigan and metro Detroit are among the hardest-hit areas of the U.S. for residential foreclosures in 2005. The region has both a steady stream of new foreclosures and a growing inventory of foreclosed homes that haven't sold. Data tracked by Foreclosure.com shows that Ohio and to a lesser extent Iowa are in the same situation. Other states with high total foreclosures include Colorado and Texas. Nationwide, new foreclosures are down 27 percent from a year ago and total foreclosures are down 9 percent.
