ABSTRACT
The article reports that the firm Watson-Marlow Bredel Pumps has launched a new hose material, PetroProof. It is claimed to be the world's first peristaltic pump capable of handling hydrocarbon liquids in continuous duty applications. It differs from conventional Watson-Marlow Bredel hose pumps in that the hose is strong enough in its own right. It does not require internal resistance and is suitable for pressures of up to 72psi. It also uses three pressing shoes as opposed to the standard two in this type of pump.
