ABSTRACT
This article presents information on the Tatshenshini-Alsek River in Southeast Alaska. The Tatshenshini and Alsek rivers originate from the mountains of the Yukon Territory and slice through the Saint Elias and Fairweather mountain ranges. The Tatshenshini meets the Alsek in the Faithweather Range and flows southwesterly within a 1- to 3-mile-wide valley surrounded by the Fairweather Range. The Tatshenshini-Alsek River is considered by most people as one of the world's premier river trips for its grandeur and scenery.
