Alaska River Guide (9780882404974);1993, p24
The article presents a couple of tips for selecting clothes to be used in exploring rivers in Alaska. Inner clothing should include long underwear, socks, and glove liners, all of polypropylene or other synthetic fibers known for their ability to wick moisture away from the body. Some people get blisters from paddling or rowing boats and like to wear leather gloves. It is advisable to wear knee-high rubber boots with wool socks and wool felt insoles. Even with knee-high boots, feet often get wet. For exploring on land during the river trip, the traveler probably needs another pair of shoes.
