ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the factors significant in the selection of robots used in cutting and welding processes. These include: the robot's positional repeatability which is the ability of a robot to return to a programmed position; the load capacity the weight the robot arm can carry; the speed which is necessary in cutting and arc-welding robots to move faster; and the power and safety which calls for worker protection from moving machines.
