Teicher, Adam
December 2005
Sporting News;12/16/2005, Vol. 229 Issue 50, p35
The article focuses on the American football team Kansas City Chiefs and some of its key players. Most offenses run to set up the pass, but the Chiefs are taking the opposite approach. By throwing deep early and making some big plays, they have forced defenses to keep their safeties back, giving RB Larry Johnson more room to run. SS Sammy Knight lacks the speed to cover the deep middle, but he makes up for it with his intelligence, instincts and recognition of opponents' tendencies. Knight is a sure tackier with good technique.
