Doerschuk, Steve
December 2005
Sporting News;12/16/2005, Vol. 229 Issue 50, p33
The article focuses on the American football team Cleveland Browns and some of its key players. The passing game has been a mess, but the running game has made strides, partly because FB Terrelle Smith is a fearless lead blocker and Reuben Droughns is a power runner who knows how to use him in confined space. In the 3-4 scheme, the team needs OLB Chaun Thompson to be an edge rusher. He has the speed for that but must improve his presnap positioning and technique during plays. His reactions in pass coverage remain below average. Though he is a work in progress, his confidence is growing.
