ABSTRACT
The article presents information about the contenders for the National Football League (NFL) executive of the year. Bill Polian of the Colts, Tim Ruskell of the Seahawks, Ernie Accorsi of the Giants and Ted Sundquist of the Broncos would be fine choices, but the leading candidate has to be Jerry Angelo of the Bears. He has hired coach Lovie Smith, selected seven of the starters for the NFL's leading defense, signed free agents like Mushin Muhammad, Thomas Jonesand John Tait, resigned the veterans Brian Urlacher, Mike Brown, Alex Brown, Olin Kreutz and took gambles that paid off big.
