ABSTRACT
The article presents information about the players and coaches in the current National Football League season. Alex Smith, the first pick in the draft, returned to the lineup last week after a five-game layoff because of a knee injury. San Francisco coaches were cautious with Smith because they believed he would be vulnerable if his knee were not 100 percent. Jake Plummer's strong play is helping Broncos coordinator Gary Kubiak again draw attention as a head coaching candidate. Kubiak was considered a hot commodity a few years back, but his moment passed.
