ABSTRACT
The article reports on the state of redevelopment projects in the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in England as of November 2005. Portsmouth boosted its dockside redevelopment initiatives by constructing a landmark tower to its waterfront. In Southampton, land ownership issues contribute to its redevelopment woes. The decision of the Associated British Ports to stick to its core port business in the city affected plans to redevelop Southampton.
