This article reports that Aramark has added elements of its Just4U healthy dining initiative, introduced in 2004, to its vending services business. Aramark established familiar parameters for vended foods to qualify for Just4U status; foods must be low in fat, carbohydrates and calories, while beverages are limited to bottled water and 100% juice. Officials identified more than 150 products that qualify. They are identified in vending machines that also provide nutrition information. Just4U is neither mandated nor absolute. Officials point out that clients are able to customize what is available in their vending machines. The program's overall goal, though, is to help clients introduce more nutritional options into the workplace and encourage customers to make healthier choices outside it.
