ABSTRACT
This article examines the possible effect of the portrayal of sex in modern novels on education. Many educators believe that the presentation and interpretation of sex in modern novels can prevent troublesome problem in high-school teaching situation. There are some considerations that may help high-school teachers whenever they begin to deliberate on the use of a specific novel for their students: works which dwell on physical sex relations should be avoided and teachers should carefully weigh the advantages and disadvantages of using modern novels which include mature ideas on sex.
