ABSTRACT
This article describes the strategies used in various television advertisements awarded by Advertising Age magazine as the best advertisements in the U.S. for 1998. Promotions for Fox Sports broadcast innovations like the Rope advertisement are often rude, crude and out of control, but they hit home with their male-oriented sports-obsessed target audience. There is a bit of nastiness in the advertisement created by Cliff Freeman for Fox Sports. In the Horse advertisement of Fox Sports, the strategy is the same with the Rope advertisement.
